After completing her B.Ed degree from McGill University, Sarah Sookman looked for a teaching job. Instead, she found employment with Liquid Air (Air Liquide Canada). Her first task was to write a user’s manual for the company’s new customer information system, and then train AL’s employees in various locations across Canada. Afterwards, Sarah joined Matrox Imaging’s technical writing department, and later transferred to the Marketing Communications team as Media Relations Specialist. In addition to building strong relationships with trade editors, her accomplishments include doubling Matrox Imaging’s exposure in the machine vision media and doubling the length of Imaging Insight, Matrox Imaging’s customer newsletter.
She founded Neuron for small machine vision and industrial automation companies who may not have the resources to hire full-time marketing staff.
Outside of machine vision, Sarah enjoys a spectrum of other subjects such as education, the balance of work and family life, gastronomy, travel, yoga, music and opera. Sarah also writes fiction, creative non-fiction, and screenplays, and has attended workshops in Montreal, Iowa City, and Los Angeles. In 2006, her personal essay Baby Talk was published on InterfaithFamily.com.
Sarah is a member of PWAC, the Professional Writer’s Association of Canada, and the Web Coordinator for PWAC’s Quebec Chapter.
